How Facctum Launched DataVium: A Strategic Consulting Brand Built to Make Data Flow.
The Backstory
Facctum had made a name for itself as a modern compliance technology platform: helping financial services firms move faster, safer, and smarter. But inside customer conversations, something new was surfacing:
Technology wasn’t the only need. Clients wanted help making sense of the data itself.
Facctum had the talent, experience, and expertise. But it needed a new vehicle to deliver it, one that didn’t just feel like a bolt-on team, but a brand of its own.
The opportunity: launch a standalone advisory business that could help global firms move from data chaos to clarity, without diluting Facctum’s product identity.



The Turning Point
Yellow Pebble was brought in to architect this new practice, from whitespace to a fully independent brand and business.
The task was equal parts strategy, story, and structure:
- Create a distinct name, identity, and entity with its own legal presence and voice
- Position the business to speak credibly to senior risk, compliance, and operations leaders

We began with naming, searching for something that evoked flow, trust, and intelligence. The result was DataVium, a name rooted in Latin origins:
- Data, the raw asset that powers transformation
- Vium, a derivation of “via” (path) and “flumen” (river), signaling movement, clarity, and control
DataVium became a brand about turning data from burden to bloodstream, a signal that the consulting practice wasn’t just advisory, but orchestral.
We built the foundation:
